UCC & BDCAT 2025

Co-Web Chair for two IEEE/ACM conferences hosted in Nantes, from site build to live program

Hugo CI/CD GitLab Pages Web Community Service

I served as Co-Web Chair for the 18th IEEE/ACM International Conference on Utility and Cloud Computing (UCC 2025) and the 12th IEEE/ACM International Conference on Big Data Computing, Applications and Technologies (BDCAT 2025), both held in Nantes, France.

🛠️ What the role involved

  • Building and maintaining the two conference websites with Hugo, deployed through GitLab CI/CD pipelines
  • Structuring the content that authors and attendees actually depend on: calls for papers, important dates, committees, registration, venue and travel information
  • Publishing the technical program and schedule, including workshops and keynotes, and keeping them in sync with the organizing committee’s decisions up to the event
  • Coordinating with the general, program, and publicity chairs so that deadlines and announcements stayed consistent across channels

🎯 Outcome

Two conference sites that stayed accurate and up to date through the whole submission-to-event cycle, for events gathering the cloud, utility, and big data computing communities. My own paper on application-level observability was also published in the UCC ‘25 proceedings.

Note that ucc-conference.org and bdcat-conference.org now redirect to the current editions of both series; the 2025 sites are archived in the ACM proceedings linked above.
